There is a trend toward smaller family. In the postwar years many families had four or five children, but now parents have one or two children.
In Britain, middle and working class mothers do not usually go back to work until the child is five or six years old and starts to go to school. The children under five are in playgroups, nursery schools or kindergartens. The sons of upper-middle and upper class families are often sent to private boarding schools. They live there and return only for school holidays.
In GB and the USA three generations don’t live together in the some house and in the some town. People move house very often for to get a better job or changing his way of life.
The father usually has to work for a whole day, so the mother must stay at home. Parents in Britain require less obedience ( poslušnosti ) than Czech parents. American children at the age of 12 are more independent. These children spent his free time outside their family.
