Wedding

A bridge never rents a wedding gown. They buy it or make it themselves. The groom usually rents a tuxedo. They don’t break a plate in the restaurant. The groom doesn’t carry his bridge inside. Wedding reception in the USA last about 4 or 5 hours. Everyone is just eating and drinking for the first 2 hours. There are some wedding customs there. For example they play game like Hokey Pokey. It’s a very simple dance. They make a circle and sing a song.
Other wedding custom includes a cutting of the wedding cake.
Later in the evening come the time for the throwing of the garter ( podvazek ) and the flower. First the bride sits down and the groom lifts up her skirt. The band plays striptease music. He takes off a garter and tosses ( hodí ) it over his shoulder. It is said that whoever catches it will be the next to marry. After that the bridge tosses his bouquet of flowers over his shoulder. And a single girl, who catches it, will be the next to marry. Finally the bouquet catcher sits down and the gather catcher puts the gather on her leg. He lifts up the skirt too.
Americans don’t kidnap the bridge. But the newlywedded couple leaves before end of the party. They use a wedding car with tins, which are tied ( přivázány ). They go on their honeymoon.
