The north USA, Alaska

the NORTHWEST
The Pacific Northwest includes the states of Oregon and Washington.
There is the Cascade mountain range with dormant volcanoes.In 1980,
one of them erupted and causes total destruction.The Oregon coast
is wild and beautiful.There is sandy beaches but also high rock
and dangerous inlets,where migrate gray whales.Seattle is the largest
city in Washington state.People there can ski on the Olympic Mountains
or sailling in the sound.

ALASKA-Folly Steward´s
Alaska is 49th state.It is the peninsula on the north.The native inhabitants
was Inuits,Eskimos and Indians.Alaska was discovered by Russians but
after Crimean war Russia need money and they decide to sell Alaska
to USA for $7,2 million.In 1880, there was discovered gold on the Klondike
river in the Yukon Territory and in 1960s there was found black gold - oil.

CALIFORNIA - the golden state
California has this nick name because there are everything:Pacific coastline
with beaches and mountains,Yosemite National park, Death valley with
the lowest point and the highest temperatures, second longest suspension
bridge - Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco,Sillicon valley with computer
industry.The state motto is Eureka, because gold was found here in 19century.
Many Americans move to the California for better life or they want to be
actors or actresses.Some people say that the state´s main export is hope
and its main import is people.California is on major fault line.There is
about 11,000 earthquakes a year, but most Californians say:"life must go on".
