Birth

Not all British babies are born in hospital. Some women choose to born his baby at home or they stay at home until the last possible minute. Some others favour the underwater birth.
Now is common for the father to attend the birth of their children. British hospitals allow visiting the mother from the very first day. Visiting time is limited. They bring some flowers.
Women do not stay in the hospital for long time after having baby. If there are no complications, they go home after 4 or 5 days.
A woman has 11 weeks off work before giving birth and 29 weeks after it, but she must work for the some employer for at last 2 years full-time or 5 years part-time. She receives 90% of her normal salary for six weeks.
